MISSION
Create a tool-less, universally mountable fin-system for twintip kiteboards which is easy-to-use and makes our customers kite experience even better!
WHO
Firefin’s co-founders, Sergio Suchomel and Lois Hagmüller, are passionate kitesurfers and award-winning architects and product designers.
Their curious and creative minds are always searching for new ideas or improvements in a relentless strive for innovation and highest quality user-experiences.
Combining their professional expertise with their passion for the sport was the foundation for this exciting journey...
IDEA
Being naturally interested in design and product innovation we quickly understood the importance fins have for the performance and characteristics of the board.
After further brainstorming with some pro's and our friend Orestis in Cape Drepano, we realized that the true potential of this component remained un-tapped with the existing screw-mounted systems.
We made it our goal to create a better solution which would be easy-to-use, tool-less and universally mountable.
JOURNEY
After 3,5 years of design development, engineering and material research with over 150 versions of fins and release systems being created, analysed and tested, the blueprint of the Firefin-system emerged.
With the help of legendary pro riders Youri Zoon, Hannah Whiteley and Stefan Spiessberger, as well as a handful of other passionate kitesurfer friends, the Firefin system was brutally tested, developed and perfected and now fulfills the highest expectations and quality standards.
We are excited to release our product to the world and hope it will also make your kite experience even better!
